The Banjar Red Cichlid (Cichlasoma festae) is a moderate-care, aggressive species from Pacific coast of Ecuador. Adults reach roughly 14", so plan on a minimum tank of 125 gallons. Keep the water between 75–82°F with a pH of 6.5–8. It does not school and can be kept singly or in species-appropriate numbers. It is predatory and will eat fish small enough to fit in its mouth. As a carnivore, it does best on a varied diet appropriate to its feeding style.
